VLC Player-rebuilding font cache (get rid of it)

Do you use VLC player? Are you annoyed by the "rebuilding font cache" window and the media player just stops responding or your video starts after a long wait.?

HERE IS A WAY TO PERMANENTLY DISABLE IT.

  • Start VLC and goto Preferences (Ctrl+P)
  • On the bottom left corner toggle between the 'show settings' options and select the 'All' radio button.
  • See the left pane, there is a option of 'Video', expand it and click on 'Subtitles/OSD'
  • Change the 'Text rendering module' to 'Dummy font'
  • Save the settings and restart VLC.

VIOLA! The font cache problem has been solved permanently.
